Clasping-leaf Pondweed

Habitat: Floating-leaved to submersed plant community; can grow in various sediment types and is tolerant to disturbances.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

· Size and shape of leaves are similar to those of Curly-leaf Pondweed

· Leaves do not have finely-toothed margins and have a heart shaped point where the leaves clasp to the stem

· Lack turions (vegetative buds that can form new plants)

Look alikes include: curly-leaf pondweed
